Plenty of businesses are called Autumn. This one handles dental insurance billing for practices. Here is what we are, what we do, and the questions practices ask before they talk to us.
The name
Autumn is a dental billing company. We run the insurance side of a practice's revenue cycle: checking benefits before the visit, sending claims, following them at the payer, reading EOBs, posting payments back to your practice management system, and working down old AR. Your software stays. Your team stays. The repetitive payer work moves to us.
No. We do not see patients and we do not run a practice. Autumn is the billing company that dental offices hire. If you are looking for a dentist, there are practices named Autumn Dental in Georgia, North Carolina, Illinois, Texas, California, and Utah, and none of them are us.
The dental billing Autumn is at meetautumn.com. Two others come up when you search the name. One is the group of dental practices that happen to share it. The other is a billing tool for software developers, with nothing to do with dentistry. If the page is about claims, EOBs, and dental insurance, you are in the right place.
Jake Taylor and Noah Hanover founded it. Both worked at Dandy before this, building for dental practices, which is where they saw how much of a practice's day goes to insurance work instead of patients. You can read the letter they wrote about it.
The work
Four services cover the billing cycle: insurance verification before the visit, electronic payments from payer to deposit, payment posting into the PMS, and AR cleanup for claim follow-up, denials, underpayments, and old balances.

No, and nothing gets ripped out. Your PMS stays where it is and stays the record. Autumn reads what it needs and writes the results back into it.
That depends on what your biller spends the week on. If it is verifying benefits, checking claim status, and posting EOBs, Autumn takes that work. What is left is the part that needs a person: talking to patients about money, deciding which denials to fight, watching your fee schedules. Most offices keep their biller and hand them the harder half of the job. We wrote up how the six staffing models compare.
No. Solo and small practices are most of who we build for, and the same work runs across multi-location groups and DSOs. Nothing here is priced or scoped for a minimum number of chairs.
